Hole Overview
The opening hole at Yarrambat Park Golf Course sets the tone for your round, with sweeping views across the surrounding parkland and natural landscape. A generous fairway provides a welcoming start, offering ample width off the tee for a confident opening drive.
A fairway bunker sits 195 metres down the left-hand side, ready to catch any pulled or mishit tee shots. From there, approach play demands control, the green slopes from front to back and is well protected by a large bunker guarding the front-left edge.
An enjoyable and forgiving opener on the surface, this hole still rewards thoughtful shot placement as you ease into your round.
Playing Tips
Favour the right-hand side of the fairway from the tee to open up the best angle into the green while taking the fairway bunker out of play.
On approach, be mindful of the green’s front-to-back slope and subtle false front, anything landing short or in the front section risks rolling back off the surface. Take enough club to carry the ball beyond the front quarter of the green for your best chance at holding it.
Once on the green, stay alert. Putts from above the hole are deceptively quick and will break from right to left, demanding a soft touch and confident read.
