Junior Girls Scholars swing into action at Yarrambat Park

At Yarrambat Park Golf Course, we’re proud to be playing a role in shaping the future of women’s golf through our delivery of the 2026 Australian Golf Foundation (AGF) Junior Girls Scholarship Program, alongside fellow Belgravia Leisure venue Valley View Golf Course in South Australia.

Through this nationally recognised initiative, 16 junior girls aged 10 – 16 across Victoria and South Australia have been awarded scholarships, providing them with 12 months of expert coaching, structured development opportunities and full venue access. The program is designed to remove barriers to participation and create clear, supported pathways for girls to progress and thrive in the game.

Since launching in 2021, the AGF Junior Girls Scholarship Program has supported more than 4,500 girls nationwide, with over 80 per cent continuing their club membership after completing the program, a powerful reflection of its long‑term impact. The scholarship includes professional coaching, a one‑year junior membership and support to obtain a Golf Australia handicap, helping participants transition confidently from introductory programs to regular on‑course play.

At Yarrambat Park, we see first‑hand how important it is to provide young girls with a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment, especially at a stage when many disengage from sport. Over the course of the year, scholarship recipients are supported not only to develop their skills, but to build confidence, friendships and a sense of belonging within the club, critical factors in keeping girls involved in sport long term.

Yarrambat Park Head Professional Brock Gillard said the club was proud to deliver a program that creates meaningful pathways both on and off the course.

“This program gives girls the chance to learn in a safe and welcoming environment,” Brock said.
“By combining quality coaching with regular access to the course, we help them grow their skills while building friendships around the game. That’s how you create golfers for life.”

With women and girls currently making up just 20 per cent of total golf participation nationwide, initiatives like the AGF Junior Girls Scholarship Program are vital in strengthening female pathways and building a more inclusive future for the sport. We’re proud to support this important program at Yarrambat Park and to see the positive impact it continues to have on young girls, their families and our wider golf community.
